Introduction
6082 aluminum plate, like 6061, contains alloying elements including Mg, Si and Cu. It features good formability, weldability, machinability and corrosion resistance, with medium strength.
After annealing, it still maintains good workability. Its mechanical performance is similar to 6061 but not identical: the T6 temper offers higher mechanical performance. The 0 and T4 tempers are suitable for bending forming, while T5 and T6 are suitable for machining requirements. It is mainly used as processing material for seamless aluminum tubes, structural profiles, and customized profiles. 6082 plate also typically provides very good machining characteristics and excellent anodizing response.
Key Features
- Good formability, weldability, machinability and corrosion resistance.
- Medium strength; after annealing it retains good workability.
- Very good anodizing response; common anodizing methods include impurity removal and dyeing, and coating/painting.

Applications
1 Thin 6082 plate
Camera lens components, ship fittings and hardware, electronic fittings, etc. Automotive outer panels: designed for good flanging/expansion, no slip lines on the surface, and good aging stability. After high-temperature refining and forming, automotive surfaces show consistent color quality. Also used for automotive underbodies. – Offers collision and bending resistance to improve safety.
2 Medium-thick 6082 plate
Transportation and structural engineering industries, such as bridges, cranes, roof structures, transport aircraft and transport ships.
3Medium-thick 6082 plate
designed for good flanging/expansion, no slip lines on the surface, and good aging stability. After high-temperature refining and forming, automotive surfaces show consistent color quality. Also used for automotive underbodies.
