5052 Aluminum Coil

5052 aluminum coil is an Al–Mg alloy with nominal Mg content of about 2.5% and Cr content of about 0.25%. It has good corrosion resistance, good weldability, good cold workability, medium strength and good formability.

    Introduction

5052 aluminum coil is an Al–Mg alloy with nominal Mg content of about 2.5% and Cr content of about 0.25%. It has good corrosion resistance, good weldability, good cold workability, medium strength and good formability. It is suitable for sheet metal processing such as stamping and bending, and has good anodizing characteristics.

5052 coil has high strength, especially excellent fatigue resistance; high plasticity and corrosion resistance; good weldability; but poorer machinability. It can be polished. Its fatigue performance is outstanding: H32 state 115 MPa, H34 state 123 MPa. Compared with other 5xxx aluminum alloys, 5052 coil’s alloy content and strength are in the middle range. In weak alkaline environments it shows some resistance. Its resistance in marine environments is better than 5005, making 5052 increasingly popular for marine applications.

    Key Features

    • 5052 aluminum coil has strong plasticity, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, and good cold processing performance.
    • There is no peeling, air bubbles, rough surface and local mechanical damage on the surface of the 5052 aluminum coil.
    • 5052 aluminum coil has good corrosion resistance, weldability, plasticity, and has certain tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, impact resistance and other properties.
    • 5052 aluminum coils can be processed into products of different shapes and sizes by cold rolling, hot rolling and other methods.

    Applications

    1. 5052 coil is mainly used for patterned sheets, umbrella frames, transportation equipment special materials, automotive oil tanks, lamp decorations, non-slip flooring, etc.
    2. 5052 for automotive: covers, truck shock absorber panels, trailer side panels, etc.
    3. 5052 for ships: shipbuilding such as decks, ship sides, bottom plates, cabins, portholes, masts, etc.
