Introduction
5052 aluminum rod has good corrosion resistance, good forming and machining performance and weldability, and medium strength. 5052 is an Al–Mg series alloy with broad applications and especially indispensable in construction. It is described as one of the most promising alloys. It has good corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, good cold workability and medium strength.
The main alloying element is magnesium, providing good forming/machining performance, corrosion resistance and weldability with medium strength. It is used to manufacture aircraft fuel tanks and oil pipes, sheet metal parts for transportation vehicles and ships, instrument parts, street lamp brackets and rivets, hardware products and electrical enclosures.
Applications
5052 alloy is widely used in components that require good formability and corrosion resistance, high fatigue limit, good weldability, and medium static load capacity, such as aircraft fuel and oil pipelines, fuel tanks, as well as various parts of marine and land equipment, cold-stamped parts, sheet metal products, and streetlight poles; the material is used for rivets or welding rods.
