Aluminum Coil

6061 Aluminum Coil

8011 aluminum coil is produced on the basis of 1xxx pure aluminum, with the addition of Fe–Si elements. When the content exceeds 1% of the total alloying elements, it gains relatively distinct advantages in alloy performance.

    Introduction

6061 aluminum coil is an aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy. Its main alloying elements are magnesium and silicon, providing medium strength, good corrosion resistance and weldability, and excellent oxidation performance. It is commonly used in extrusion and ranks second in popularity only to 6063.

“6061 aluminum coil” refers to aluminum plate with thickness 0.4–2.5 mm. Common tempers include 6061-O (annealed), 6061-T6 (solution treatment + artificial aging), and 6061-T651 (solution treatment + stress-relief stretching + artificial aging).

6061 coil has good oxidation results, does not deform after processing, has good quenching performance and good stability. It is widely used in smartphone housing materials, automotive wheel rims, trolley cases, and other 3C product applications.

    Key Features

    • Good hot ductility, weldability and corrosion resistance.
    • After processing, it does not deform; smooth surface; easy to anodize and color.
    • Color remains unchanged after anodizing; attractive appearance.

    Applications

6061 coil is widely used in 3C applications such as smartphone card slots, keys, computer supports and computer housings, as well as trolley cases, aluminum furniture, door panels/handles, ships, automobiles, and building exterior walls, etc.
